A Chef & a photographer met one night in a kitchen….
Ed’s the chef and Laura’s the photographer. Although they often debate as to whose instagram feed is better! This is not a traditional food blog: we do not write recipes and we do not review restaurants. We do document our shared passion for food, plants and collaboration. We endeavour to share our challenges, learnings and our processes in the kitchen or behind the camera.
We both pursue capturing the inherent natural beauty of food: organic, rustic and textural. These adjectives describe both our styles: as a chef and as a photographer. Get to know us both more below.
Originally from the UK, Ed trained as a chef in London after his travels in Japan and the rest of Asia ignited his passion for food. Upon moving to Auckland in 2010, Ed’s skills flourished under Sid Sahrawat at Sidart, and with Michael Meredith at Merediths. In 2013, Ed’s former position as head chef at Stafford Road Wine Bar propelled him to media attention when he transformed a simple bar menu into a relaxed fine dining experience. In 2014/5 Ed will be staging with Kadeau, Relae and Frantzen in Europe.
Laura is a professional photographer and artist inspired by ethereal, light-driven moments. She divides her time between her arts practice, commissions, freelance photography and the ART Venture 2013 programme.
